Terms of service

Last updated 22 July 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and Southwood Technologies Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), the company behind resolution. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who can use resolution. You must be 13 or older to use resolution. You confirm your age when you sign up. If we find out someone is under 13, we will remove their account. You need one account per person. Do not create an account on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge, except for the limited ghost profile invite feature described in our privacy policy, which requires the invited person to confirm and join before it becomes a real account.

2. Your account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, or from the web without installing the app. See our privacy policy for what happens to your data when you do.

3. What resolution is for. resolution helps you and a small group commit to a personal goal, track progress with photo or video evidence, and support each other through a season. It includes a light game layer of points, cards, dares, and a league table that runs alongside your real goal. The game layer is for fun and motivation only. Points, cards, and league position have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money or prizes, and cannot be bought, sold, or transferred outside the app. There are no in-app purchases and no payments of any kind in this version of resolution.

4. Zero tolerance for abusive behaviour and objectionable content. resolution has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This is a firm rule, not a guideline. You must not post, send, or upload content that harasses, bullies, threatens, or targets another person; is sexually explicit, or sexualises a real person without their consent; depicts or promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal acts; is hateful or discriminatory towards a person or group based on a protected characteristic; is spam, a scam, or otherwise deceptive; or impersonates another person or entity. You must not use resolution to abuse, intimidate, stalk, or repeatedly contact someone who does not want to hear from you, whether inside your group or otherwise. We enforce this with report, block, and moderation: every check-in, comment, dare, and piece of evidence media in the app can be reported, with a reason, in one tap; you can block any user from your profile or a comment at any time, which hides their content from you and yours from them; free text you write is automatically screened before it is shown to anyone else; and reports are reviewed by us, with a commitment to act on every report within 24 hours. Depending on severity, we may remove content, warn a user, eject a user from a group, or ban a user from resolution entirely, at our reasonable discretion. If a user is ejected or banned, their group’s points earned up to that point remain on the record, but their content is hidden from the group and they can no longer participate.

5. Content you create. You own the photos, videos, and text you create in resolution. By posting content in the app, you give us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate resolution for you and your group, for example showing your evidence to your mentor, showing your check-in on your group’s feed, or generating your season Wrapped summary. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to the retention timelines in our privacy policy. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it, and we do not claim ownership of it. You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share, or that would breach someone else’s privacy or rights.

6. Moderation and dares. The dare feature lets a group member send another member a free-text challenge. All dare text is checked by our moderation filter before it is sent. Dare evidence you post to complete a dare is treated the same as check-in evidence: it can be reported, and is subject to the same zero-tolerance rules above.

7. Not medical, financial, or professional advice. resolution is a goal-tracking and accountability tool. It is not a substitute for medical, mental health, financial, legal, or other professional advice. Our AI-assisted goal-setting chat will decline to help set goals in sensitive categories, such as anything related to self-harm, disordered eating, or medically supervised substance cessation, and will point you towards appropriate support resources instead. If your goal touches on your health or wellbeing more broadly, use your own judgement and consult a qualified professional as needed. Nothing in the app is a diagnosis, treatment plan, or medical recommendation.

8. Availability and changes to the service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features of resolution at any time. We will try to give you reasonable notice of material changes that affect your data or ability to use the app, in line with our privacy policy.

9. Termination. You can stop using resolution and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, in particular the zero-tolerance rule above, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used for fraud, abuse, or to harm another user. On termination, our data handling follows the retention and deletion rules in our privacy policy.

10. Disclaimers and liability. resolution is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep it reliable and secure, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, for example liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in the country where you live.

12. Contact us. support@southwood.dev. Southwood Technologies Ltd, company number 13012413, 2a Woodcote Avenue, Wallington, SM6 0QS, United Kingdom.

13. Changes to these terms. We will tell you in-app if we make a material change to these terms, and ask you to agree again where required.
